Gondolas in Venice

Posted by Eric Cousineau (Sherwood Park, Canada) on 21 August 2009 in Documentary & Street and Portfolio.

The gondola is a traditional Venetian rowing boat. Once the most common boat in Venice, it is now used mainly for romantic sightseeing of Italy, as a shuttle for short trips to cross the Grand Canal, and for rowing races.

Japanalia from Yokohama, Japan

Beautiful play of light and shadow on the ripples of the water. What's going to happen to these buildings in the next 10 years if nobody cares enough to do something for these, otherwise, beautiful facades?!

21 Aug 2009 5:39am

@Japanalia: Thank you very much Garbiella! Yes indeed....they are constantly refurbishing these buildings; but they are very old and prone to damage from the canal waters..... ;-)
