Wine is constant proof that God loves us and loves to see us happy.

I don't think of myself as a role model. I do try to live in a compassionate, considerate and positive way. The only advice I can offer is to find what you love to do, find the joy in it, and express yourself through your passion.

MARIANA from Waterloo, Canada

Excellent capture . Gorgeous building in all these colors and cloth on wire is a special add to this shot !

8 Aug 2009 1:59pm

@MARIANA: Thanks Mariana! The ledgend goes that the area was/is prone to heavy fog and wives painted their houses in these bright colours so that their men could find their way home....... ;-))

eva from Rouen, France

8 Aug 2009 6:03pm

@eva: Merci beaucoup, Eva ! Oui, je pense que Murano est un lieu merveilleux plein d'histoire riche. Merci pour vos visites et commente. Ils sont beaucoup appréciés ! ;-)

Lambspun from Madison, Maine, United States

8 Aug 2009 6:12pm

@Lambspun: Thanks Lambspun! Murano has a vivid history as it was the island where all of the glass blowers lived.... ;-))

Japanalia from Yokohama, Japan

One other thing Murano is famous for ....the colourful buildings! No palaces here...just the simple way of living life!

9 Aug 2009 11:43am

@Japanalia: Thanks Gabriella! No nobility on Murano; it was the island where the glassmakers lived....... ;-)

Judy from Brooksville, Florida, United States

This is beautiful, Eric. I love the colors of the houses on Murana and also Burano that I've seen online.
Are you living in Italy?

9 Aug 2009 8:14pm

@Judy: Thanks very much Judy! No, I live in western Canada. We spent a month over in Italy in 2007.... The significance of the bright colours, as ledgend holds, is that these islands are very prone to fog. The wives have painted their houses in the varied and bright colours to ensure that their husbands can find their way home.... ;-))

Markela from Athens, Greece

Interesting explanation for the bright colors of these houses (i.e. your answer to Judy's comment)....Nicely framed, Eric!! :-D

11 Aug 2009 2:18pm
