Foggy Morning View #4

Driftwood always has had a special appeal to me. Not only has it withstood the ravages on the land but also those of the sea.....

Japanalia from Yokohama, Japan

A very artistic find in the fog...well, it must have compensated the loss of surroundings to the fog! And I like it that you left a bit of grey ocean in the upper part of the shot.

30 Oct 2010 11:40am

@Japanalia: Thank you very much Gabriela! Driftwood has always had a special draw for me! It's gnarled and weathered surfaces are fascinating...... ;-)

Japanalia from Yokohama, Japan

The more I look at it, the clerer it comes to me...a head of a sacrificed cow (?)

@Japanalia: that you mention it I can see it also! Thank you Gabriela! ;-))

john4jack from Corvallis, Oregon, United States

marvelous piece of driftwood. if it were my photograph, i would crop it, especially from the top (then you wouldn't even need to straighten the horizon line; Judy has never let me get away with a crooked horizon)

30 Oct 2010 9:09pm

@john4jack: Thanks very much Jack! I left a bit of the foggy waves in as I felt it provided a nice counterpoint to the dark sand. ;-)
